Vicarage Crescent
Façade Retention, Demolition, Soft Strip
Berkley Demolition Ltd was awarded the contract to undertake the soft strip, Asbestos removal, façade retention and the demolition of the former Laburnham Club in Battersea, London. The works also included installing temporary propping works to the neighbouring party wall.
All of the incoming services were isolated and temporary water and power supplies re-installed through out the site. The Asbestos was removed followed by the complete strip out of the building. 16 tons of steel making up the façade retention and temporary works were installed followed by the demolition. Due to site constraints the demolition was carried out using a 5 ton excavator and by hand.
Vicarage Crescent is a particularly narrow road, therefore no lorries could enter site. All demolition arising had to be either walked out from site or were loaded into waiting lorries using our skid steer. The works were successfully completed on time and within budget.
